Today I learned that the tag “laugh rule” refers to a rule where if you laugh you have to reblog something. Not me being on this site for years and years and thinking that people were making a joke about living under laugh rule the way you would live under, say, mob rule.

I’ve literally used the tag and been thinking to myself “ah yes, laugh rule. where humor is king and the memes you trade are the currency of empire”

We know that Facebook is brainscorching your parents and tiktok is brainscorching your cousins, but some of you refuse to admit that you got your brain scorched here. However unlike those sites there isn’t an algorithm here you just make bad choices.

That’s all we ever wanted. To arrive at Hell as a result of our own dubious navigation skills instead of as the result of Satan owning all the road sign companies.

Suddenly, she felt arms around her, yanking her away from the lake’s edge. The arms around her were trembling, too, but they were iron tight, scented with sweat and moss. “It’s not real,” Ronan told her, voice low. “It’s not real, Blue.”

“I saw her,” Blue said, and she heard the sob in her voice. “My mother.”

He said, “I know. I saw my father.”

***spoilers***

This scene punched me right in the heart. Ronan using Blue’s real name? Ronan actually being comforting? The boldest display that they’ve transitioned from them disliking each other, to caring deeply for one another? Blue’s reaction being so raw and magnified after just finding Persephone’s body a few hours earlier? OOF. Anyway, cheers to Ronan being, “not such a shithead” as Blue so eloquently put it. Their dynamic and relationship growth gives me life.
